Enter through the actual airport or rail station, sleep by Hubin/Longxiangqiao and return through the named exit. This gives up Ningbo's book-and-port history and Wuzhen's canal-town overnight. Since 1 February 2026, a full date has online waitlisting until 20:00 on the preceding day; check the official mini-program for the allocation result. Waitlist placement alone grants no entry; wait for an accepted allocation. On-site registration was cancelled. Use the successful slot and current return bus before treating the temple day as fixed.
Ningbo 宁波: Tianyi Pavilion, Moon Lake and Old Bund
Choose a compact Haishu heritage base and a separate riverfront period over Hangzhou's lake or Wuzhen's ticketed town night. The two-night plan is a Ningbo city stay, with no island transfer.
Hard stop: The 2026 Haishu culture-bureau answer groups Tianyi Pavilion, Moon Lake and Drum Tower as the historic core. Read the Pavilion operator's current visitor entrance, ticket and opening notice; ask about any local bus departure. Ningbo's offshore islands need their own weather, ferry and overnight decision.
Choose the canal-town evening itself. Two nights at one booked Wuzhen hotel make the rail-to-road arrival, scenic entry, a full town day and the return separate decisions.
Hard stop: The current operator booking site controls the actual East/West ticket product and availability. Its hotel notice requires a passport for foreign guests at the Xizha visitor-centre check-in for its own properties; room, gate, ticket and re-entry terms depend on the booked product. Ask the operator about them (0573-88731088) before paying for the rail-to-road branch.
Search each dated rail pair and reverse on 12306. Airport, station, hotel, scenic gate and return are separate steps.

Entry, last ride and return: Enter through the actual Hangzhou Xiaoshan airport (HGH), Hangzhou East (杭州东站), Hangzhou Station/Chengzhan (杭州站/城站) or other station printed on your ticket. The airport lists Metro Lines 1, 7 and 19; plan a dated Metro route to Longxiangqiao (龙翔桥) or arrange a road ride to the booked hotel. Hangzhou East and Hangzhou Station require their own station-to-hotel plan. Walk the public West Lake shore from the hotel on one day. For Feilai Feng on the other day, walk to Metro Line 1 Longxiangqiao Station Exit A and follow the signs upstairs to Longxiangqiao Bus Terminal (龙翔桥公交总站). Find a Lingyin-bound shuttle in the current operator timetable to Lingyin Bus Terminal (灵隐公交总站), then follow the signed pedestrian route to the reserved gate near Lingyin Road/Fayun Lane (灵隐路法云弄). Before entering, find the last return and its actual Hubin-side drop-off. If no direct reverse runs, a December 2025 report documented a Lingyin Bus Terminal–Dongyue Bus Terminal (东岳公交总站) feeder and Metro Line 3 at Dongyue; use it if the feeder and onward route to your hotel run on your date. Fengqi Road (凤起路, Metro Lines 1/2) is another scenic-feeder interchange when its Lingyin-bound service and return run on your date. On traffic-control days, taxis may stop at a designated feeder point. Leave from the hotel to the exact flight terminal or rail station on your exit booking. An early Shanghai flight calls for a Shanghai final night unless you book a same-day connection with enough transfer time.
When to cut it: If the official channel shows no accepted Lingyin booking before you need to leave for the gate, keep the public shore or move the temple day; the on-site registration option has ended. If the return bus is unavailable, choose an independently open old-city or canal visit. With only two nights, keep the lake day; add a night for Lingyin instead of squeezing two full visits into the shorter East Coast stop.

Entry, last ride and return: Enter at the exact Ningbo Station (宁波站) on a dated 12306 ticket or Ningbo Lishe International Airport (NGB) on an issued flight. The airport's Metro Line 2 connection has been documented, but use the operator's current terminal, service and city stop before relying on it; a road ride to the actual Haishu hotel is the fallback. Tianyi Pavilion is recorded at Tianyi Street 10 (天一街10号), west of Moon Lake; use its current visitor entrance and admission notice before leaving the hotel. Walk or use an arranged local ride among the pavilion, Moon Lake and Drum Tower. Old Bund (老外滩) is a different Sanjiangkou-side city period, with its own hotel return. Reverse from the Haishu hotel to the exact Ningbo rail station or airport terminal on the exit booking, rather than treating the Old Bund as a departure hub.
When to cut it: If Tianyi Pavilion is closed or entry fails, keep a smaller Moon Lake and Drum Tower walk and the booked Ningbo return. If a late arrival or early exit removes the second city period, drop Old Bund rather than racing across town before the station or airport ride.

Wuzhen 乌镇: a West Scenic Area night
Why this branch: Choose the canal-town evening itself. Two nights at one booked Wuzhen hotel make the rail-to-road arrival, scenic entry, a full town day and the return separate decisions.
Wuzhen 乌镇 · Xizha 西栅 or one booked town hotel 2 nightsIf the West Scenic Area evening is the reason to stay, book an actual Xizha operator hotel and match its entrance and passport check-in to the booking. A hotel outside the scenic area has a different gate and re-entry decision.
Entry, last ride and return: Search 12306 for the dated train to the exact Tongxiang Station (桐乡站). Ask for a current bus to Wuzhen Bus Station (乌镇汽车站) and its onward link to the Xizha Visitor Service Centre (西栅游客服务中心), or arrange a road ride to the booked hotel's actual entrance. The operator's older ground guide documents those nodes; ask for the current bus or coach departure and return. The operator lists separate East Scenic Area (东栅), West Scenic Area (西栅) and joint ticket products; buy the product that matches the hotel and intended entry. Arrange the hotel-to-Tongxiang Station reverse ride and its margin before the onward train.
When to cut it: If the scenic ticket, hotel check-in path or reverse Tongxiang ride fails on your dates, move the dates or drop the town overnight. Use current operator transport for the return instead of an old coach listing. A Hangzhou or Ningbo city stay is a separate route with its own entry and exit.
Gateways and final rides that change the choice
Hubin to Lingyin, then back to the hotel
The airport operator lists Metro Lines 1, 7 and 19; find the current terminal, last service and the stop for the particular Hubin hotel. Hangzhou East and Hangzhou Station/Chengzhan are distinct arrivals. For the temple day, walk from the Hubin hotel to Metro Line 1 Longxiangqiao Station Exit A and follow signs upstairs to Longxiangqiao Bus Terminal. The city's published scenic traffic scheme lists Fengqi Road (Metro Lines 1/2) as a regular Metro-to-scenic-bus interchange and adds Longxiangqiao (Line 1) on weekends and short holidays. A 2024 Hangzhou Bus guide republished by the city CPPCC gives the Exit A, upstairs bus terminal and Lingyin-bound shuttle geometry. Before leaving, read the operator's live app or stop notice for a dated departure and reverse to your Hubin-side stop. If the direct reverse is absent, a December 2025 bus access report documented a feeder from Lingyin Bus Terminal to Dongyue Bus Terminal, with Metro Line 3 at Dongyue. Use it when that feeder and onward route reach your hotel on your travel date. From Lingyin Bus Terminal follow signs to the booked Feilai Feng gate. On the lake day, use the public shore; 2026 reporting describes free lakeside parks; boats and interiors have separate admission.
Weekend taxi transfer boundary
Under the city's published spring/autumn peak-period traffic scheme, taxis including ride-hailing are barred from the defined Lingyin control area from 08:00 to 17:00 on weekends and short holidays; the taxi exemption from odd/even driving limits leaves this Lingyin access rule in place. Use Xixi Road No. 608 car park (西溪路608号停车场) or Xiaoyawu Bus Stop (小牙坞公交站) as the taxi-to-feeder transfer point, then follow the signed shuttle. Long holidays also carry a stated 08:00–17:00 Lingyin taxi transfer rule; Lunar New Year's first and fifth days begin at 04:00. Read the travel-day control and return service before booking a road ride.
2026 Lingyin booking and waitlist
The 2025 scenic notice accepts foreign passports and requires the original at the timed gate, but its on-site registration clause was superseded: the temple operator's 2026 notice states cancellation from 1 February. When regular slots are full, submit a waitlist request in the official mini-program by 20:00 on the preceding day. Check the result through WeChat or Alipay notifications or in the mini-program. Waitlist placement alone grants no entry; if allocation fails, keep the lake day or change dates.
Ningbo Haishu is a city base
The 2026 Haishu culture-bureau answer connects Tianyi Pavilion, Moon Lake and Drum Tower as a historic core. Its local Luocheng cultural passport is a district walking activity rather than a foreign visitor entry document. The heritage register gives Tianyi Street 10 for the Pavilion; use the present visitor gate. A 2026 airport-group record documents a Metro Line 2 access point at Lishe. Use the airport's current terminal signs and train timetable, or arrange a road ride to the hotel.
Tongxiang rail needs a road leg to Wuzhen
The operator's older transport guide identifies Tongxiang Station, Wuzhen Bus Station and Xizha Visitor Service Centre, but its bus numbers and coaches need the operator's current timetable. The current operator ticket site distinguishes East, West and joint products. The hotel notice says foreign guests use passports for the operator's Xizha-side check-in. Match the exact hotel, room, gate, ticket and reverse Tongxiang ride before buying a nonrefundable train.

Hangzhou · 杭州
Choose the public West Lake shore and, with an actual passport slot, Lingyin–Feilai Feng as separate full days.
Boundary: HGH, Hangzhou East, Hangzhou Station, the Hubin hotel and the Lingyin entrance are different points. The East Coast sample's two Hangzhou nights omit a local block.

Choose Tianyi Pavilion, Moon Lake and Drum Tower; add Old Bund only when the city period and reverse fit.
Boundary: The Haishu heritage core and Sanjiangkou Old Bund are different visits. Ningbo Station and Lishe airport have separate hotel and return rides; islands are excluded.

Choose Xizha for an evening inside the canal town after matching the exact hotel, scenic product and road return.
Boundary: Tongxiang rail station, Wuzhen Bus Station, Xizha visitor centre and a hotel are separate nodes. East and West scenic tickets and re-entry depend on the ticket and hotel product.
Separate old-city extension

Use it when Lu Xun's old-city heritage earns its own local ride and a return or another overnight.
Boundary: It is outside this three-night Hangzhou default and outside the Ningbo/Wuzhen stays; give it its own entry, site and return plan.
Island branch outside this plan
Zhoushan/Putuoshan · 舟山/普陀山
Choose an island only after arranging a dated ferry or bridge-side entry, weather plan and island return.
Boundary: Neither Ningbo's port-city heritage nor Hangzhou's lake day supplies an island ferry, bed or weather buffer.
Southern mountain branch
Yandangshan/Wenzhou · 雁荡山/温州
Give a mountain visit its own gateway, scenic entrance and weather-flex base.
Boundary: Plan the local mountain shuttle and return with its own nights beyond the Wuzhen stay.
Longer lake base
Qiandao Lake · 千岛湖
Choose it for a different lake-and-island stay after setting a dock, lodging base and boat date.
Boundary: West Lake's public shore tells you little about Qiandao Lake; give the latter its own dock, boat and overnight plan.
Before booking, and when a branch breaks
Book in this order: choose one purpose and real entry/exit → search the exact dated station pair and reverse on 12306, or the actual flight terminal → choose a flexible overnight hotel → obtain the scarce attraction ticket and passport path → pay for the hotel and arrange local rides and return. A rail ticket still leaves a separate ride to the hotel or scenic entrance.
A passport slot or admission disappears
Lingyin–Feilai Feng uses timed real-name entry and the original passport. Since 1 February 2026, the official mini-program's online waitlist replaces the former on-site registration; confirm a successful allocation in that channel before going to the gate. Keep Hangzhou's public lake shore if booking or waitlist fails; use each other site's operator before substituting it. In Ningbo, a closed Tianyi Pavilion leaves a smaller Moon Lake/Drum Tower walk. In Wuzhen, missing Xizha inventory changes the purpose of the overnight: move dates or choose another branch.
The last local ride fails
Find the current metro or bus, or arrange a road ride in both directions before using a rail station as the gateway. For Lingyin, find the bus from Longxiangqiao or Fengqi Road to Lingyin Bus Terminal and the reverse before entering the reserved gate; a taxi may have to stop at a published transfer boundary on controlled days. The Wuzhen operator's older transport guide is route geometry; ask for the last bus. If the Tongxiang return fails, drop or move the town stay; if a Ningbo or Hangzhou attraction ride fails, protect the hotel-to-exit leg first.
Weather changes a lake or island day
Rain or a local closure can change exposed walking. Read the current official weather and operator notice shortly before travel. Keep a city period that is independently open, or move the visit date. Zhoushan/Putuoshan, Yandangshan and Qiandao Lake each need weather checks, transport and nights beyond these sample stays.
The onward city or flight changes
Choose the final hotel against the real exit booking. The East Coast region's Shanghai departure requires a separate same-day connection from a Hangzhou, Ningbo or Wuzhen hotel. For an early Shanghai flight, move the final night to Shanghai unless the booked transfer leaves enough time. Keep the reserved exit and drop an extra site if the transfer would run late.
