Choose the bed from your next departure
City sights + Li River cruise
Default to central Xiufeng, near the Elephant Hill–Zhengyang side. Spend the city day on foot, then travel by a confirmed vehicle to the boarding port named on your ticket. A hotel beside the urban Li River is still not beside that port.
Early train from 桂林站
Consider the Dong'an Road / 桂林站 side for the last night. Check the full station name on the issued ticket and the hotel-to-station vehicle or walk with bags. A hotel described as near 桂林站 does not help with 桂林北站, 桂林西站 or 阳朔站.
Early flight from KWL
Choose the room only after reserving a workable hotel-to-airport transfer and allowing airport processing time. The airport's published bus plan is date and sale dependent; it cannot by itself guarantee an early check-in at the terminal. Ask the hotel about a specific paid car or use a licensed car if the first confirmed bus is too late.
If the next two nights are in Yangshuo, compare a one-way cruise with a direct road move before paying for another Guilin room. The Guilin guide compares those full journeys; the Yangshuo guide chooses the next base.

These are branch examples with official property pages, not a live price ranking. Check the exact room, passport registration, final arrival and cancellation terms with the property before paying.
01 · Central riverfront
Sheraton Guilin Hotel
桂林喜来登饭店 · 桂林市滨江路15号
Use it for: Choose it when a riverfront city base and an easy return from Elephant Trunk Hill matter more than the room price. The hotel is in the centre, not at a Li River cruise boarding port.
Trade-off: A riverfront address does not remove the separate early road journey to 磨盘山 or 竹江. Check the actual river-view room category and payable total rather than assuming every room has the view.
Arrival terms: Marriott lists check-in from 15:00 and check-out by 12:00. Its hotel page says there is no hotel shuttle; arrange the airport, station and cruise-port legs separately.

02 · Central street base
Holiday Inn Express Guilin City Center

Use it for: Choose it for Zhengyang Pedestrian Street, central meals and a repeatable city sightseeing base. IHG places it about 3 km from 桂林站, which is a transfer rather than a luggage walk to assume.
Trade-off: The central pedestrian and shopping streets can make a vehicle door different from the map pin you first see. Get the hotel's arrival entrance and driver drop-off before a late arrival.
Arrival terms: IHG lists check-in from 14:00, check-out by 12:00 and no local or airport shuttle. Its published breakfast inclusion belongs to the property description; still read the exact room offer.

03 · 桂林站 side
Hampton by Hilton Guilin Xiufeng
桂林秀峰希尔顿欢朋酒店 · 桂林市秀峰区东安路206号
Use it for: Choose it for a final city night when the issued train really leaves from 桂林站. Hilton places that station about 2 km from the hotel; book or trace the complete last leg with bags.
Trade-off: Hilton places the city centre about 3.3 km away. 桂林北站 and 桂林西站 are different stations, so this branch does not solve an early departure from either one.
Arrival terms: Hilton lists check-in from 14:00 and check-out by 12:00. Its overview mentions a free airport shuttle while its transport page says airport shuttle unavailable; do not rely on a shuttle without a written property confirmation.

03 · CRUISE MORNING
Match the hotel, boat and bags before checkout
The Li River operator sends three-star boats from 磨盘山客运港 and four-star boats from 竹江客运港. Both finish at 阳朔龙头山码头. The operator places the two Guilin-side ports about 28 km and 22 km from the city respectively. Neither is a walk from a central Guilin hotel.
- Read the issued boat's boarding port, sailing date, document name and reporting time. Book a vehicle from the exact hotel door to that exact port; do not navigate to “Li River” alone.
- Before checking out, decide who carries every bag. The operator says the one-way cruise has no luggage-storage service. Ask your ticket seller about baggage accepted on that sailing; a bag transfer or hotel hold needs its own written arrangement.
- At 龙头山, reach the booked Yangshuo door by an operating local service or a prearranged car. If you are sleeping again in Guilin, reserve a separate Yangshuo-to-hotel road return and confirm bag collection at the same desk.
Heavy water or an operator notice can change the route. Check the dated Li River notice list and the issuing seller's change or refund rule before leaving the hotel. Use the complete cruise and road comparison for the decision to sail at all.
04 · ARRIVAL AND EXIT
Finish the trip to the hotel entrance
From KWL: the airport's city-bus page places ticket sales by Terminal 2 arrivals door 6 and boarding outside that door. Its published city line includes a 桂林站-area stop and the centre / 东西巷 side; service actually sold on the day controls your choice. A bus stop is not a hotel door. Use a legal taxi or confirmed car if the remaining walk, bags or arrival hour make the bus unsuitable.
From rail: save the complete Chinese station on the ticket. 桂林站 is the central station; 桂林北站, 桂林西站 and 阳朔站 are separate endpoints. At the station, navigate to the hotel's street address above and keep the same precise address for a driver. For an early next-day train, reverse that complete journey and protect the station reporting time.
For a Yangshuo move: do not leave bags at a Guilin reception if the boat or road transfer ends at a Yangshuo hotel. If returning to Guilin later, obtain a storage receipt, retrieval deadline and a feasible return. The passport hotel guide covers registration and a refusal at check-in.
05 · BOOKING CHECK
Get the room and transfer answer in writing
- Match the hotel's Chinese branch and door to the listing, date, nights, party and exact room type.
- Read the payable total, breakfast, deposit, payment timing, cancellation deadline and no-show rule on that offer.
- Ask whether that branch can register your nationality's original passport and hold a late arrival, especially when you may arrive after midnight.
- For a cruise day, ask about bag storage and collection time or the permitted bag on the named boat. For a flight, ask for the pickup time, fee and driver meeting point.

Protect a usable room and the onward trip
Boat cancelled or a cruise ticket cannot be issued for your passport: keep or change the Guilin room only under its booked rate terms. Ask the issuing boat seller for the route-specific change or refund, then compare a road move to the booked Yangshuo hotel. Do not assume a boat cancellation cancels the hotel.
Train or flight changes: check the new exact station or terminal first. A 桂林站-side room is a weak choice if departure moves to 桂林北 or 桂林西. Recheck the cancellation cutoff before buying a replacement night.
Hotel cannot receive the traveller: show the saved property reply and original passport. Ask the duty manager for the precise obstacle, contact the original booking platform while at reception and document the offered cancellation or replacement. Choose a second named property only when it has confirmed the passport, room and arrival; a brand listing does not prove your individual booking will be accepted.

Marriott, IHG and Hilton provide the three property identities, addresses, contacts and published check-in times. The IHG transport page says no hotel shuttle. Hilton's overview and transport page disagree about airport shuttle availability, so this page requires direct confirmation.
The Li River operator's pier list and one-way terms establish port names, river endpoint, real-name travel and the lack of boat baggage storage; the airport operator establishes its published city bus path. Hotel-base choices and the order of bag/transfer checks are editorial guidance. No room rate, live vehicle seat, exact walking route, passport acceptance by an individual hotel, or completed boat booking was tested. Confirm these for your own date.
