Where to stay for a Zhangye Danxia visit

If you are arriving by high-speed train and want a straightforward Zhangye city base, start with Hampton by Hilton Zhangye West Railway Station / 张掖高铁西站希尔顿欢朋酒店. If arranging a paid airport or station pickup matters more, compare Zhangye Hotel / 张掖宾馆. Both are named city hotels with published foreign-guest acceptance; neither is a hotel at the geopark entrance.

Two concrete candidates

• Hampton by Hilton Zhangye West Railway Station — No. 66 Danxia East Road / 丹霞东路66号, in the Zhangye West railway-station area. Hilton lists breakfast and places the station within a short drive. Use the linked Hilton property page or its matching Trip.com record. The official page says no airport shuttle: arrange your own arrival ride unless a separate service is explicitly agreed.
• Zhangye Hotel / 张掖宾馆 — Binhe Avenue, Binhe New Area, Ganzhou District / 甘州区滨河新区滨河大道. Its Trip.com property record lists airport and station pickup/drop-off at an additional charge. Choose it if that service is useful and the hotel confirms the date, meeting point and price. A transfer amenity is not a booked car.

Trip.com lists a 24-hour front desk and guests from all countries/regions for both properties, checked on 13 September 2026. Enter your actual dates and room needs in the linked property record, check the total price and cancellation deadline, and confirm any unusual arrival time or pickup before committing. No particular night, room price or passport check-in has been tested here.

Keep the hotel and the Danxia entrance as two separate destinations

For the colourful hills, use the full destination 张掖七彩丹霞旅游景区. A practical meeting point to agree with your driver is 七彩丹霞景区北入口游客服务中心 — the north-entrance visitor service centre. Zhangye’s official account records the completed visitor centre and north-entrance service facilities. Save that exact entrance pin, rather than a general “Zhangye Geopark” pin or a hotel with “Danxia” in its name.

1. Choose the hotel around your arrival and departure transport. Neither listed city hotel makes the park a walk from your room. If staying at the park gate is essential for you, these two city candidates do not meet that requirement.
2. Before paying for a scenic transfer, agree the exact hotel pickup, park entrance, departure time, return meeting point, waiting charge and final price. Check that the entrance agrees with your ticket and current park notice. Hotel accommodation and the scenic ride are separate purchases.
3. Save the hotel and park pins in Chinese. Arrange the return ride before entering, especially if staying for late light. If the driver cannot confirm a return that fits your onward journey, shorten the park visit or move it to another day.
