Book official China attraction tickets with a foreign passport

Use the named venue’s route, then check the dated order

Start with the official sources at the end of this page: Palace Museum English booking; Mao Memorial Hall’s visitor notice; the Terracotta museum’s ticket instructions and own QR codes; or Mogao’s 2026 opening notice. These establish the right route. A sales page, submitted enquiry or payment screen is not proof of a reserved visit.

A Trip.com ticket disappears three days before departure

For the traveller in France, the attraction and date were not named. A disappearing Trip.com tile cannot tell us whether the operator is sold out, has not opened sales, withdrew that reseller product, or has a display problem. If you already paid, open the order first and distinguish confirmed admission from a pending booking request before buying again.

1. For the named venues below, open the corresponding official source and select the actual visit date and product.
2. If that date is not yet in the operator’s booking window, use the release rule; do not treat it as sold out.
3. If the operator confirms no availability, change the day or leave the attraction out. A higher reseller price does not create an official place.
4. If the venue is not one of those disclosed here, its exact inventory remains unknown. Do not attach one of these museums’ rules to an unnamed Trip.com listing.

A foreign phone fails at the Palace Museum or Mao Memorial Hall

Venue: Palace Museum / 故宫博物院

Exact official route: Open Palace Museum: English email sign-in and passport booking in Sources. The public English site offers email-code sign-in. Select date/session, enter each visitor’s actual passport details and complete the order.

If booking cannot be completed: Use bookingticket@dpm.org.cn for a ticketing enquiry, or the published 400-950-1925 line. Emailing an enquiry is not an email reservation.

Venue: Mao Memorial Hall / 毛主席纪念堂

Exact official route: Use the official 毛主席纪念堂 service account, 毛主席纪念堂预约 mini-program or People’s Daily Memorial Hall page identified by the visitor notice. Reservations open 1–6 days ahead.

If booking cannot be completed: The reviewed notice does not establish a successful overseas-number route. Use individual reservation help +86-10-55605013 during opening days 08:00–11:30; outside that period it lists +86-10-86409990. Keep this visit unconfirmed until an actual dated reservation is issued.

The Palace releases tickets seven days before the visit at 20:00 Beijing time and has no same-day ticket sale. Bring the original booked passport and use the staffed check at Meridian Gate. The email interface is a documented alternative to the failing phone form; email-code delivery, payment and a completed booking were not tested here.

Mao Memorial Hall’s current homepage says it reopened on 1 September 2026. Its ordinary opening pattern is Tuesday–Sunday mornings, with special-date and temporary-closure notices taking priority. Do not fill a Chinese-ID field with a passport number or use someone else’s identity to force the form through. A hotel may help communicate, but no guaranteed hotel allocation or gate-entry fallback is established.

Face-value Terracotta Warriors and Mogao tickets, without a private tour

Venue: Terracotta Warriors / 秦始皇帝陵博物院

Reference admission price checked 13 September 2026: Ordinary adult museum admission: CNY120. Compare a ticket-only offer against this, not a bundle with transport or a private guide.

Route to use: Open the museum ticket instructions in Sources and use its own QR code for 秦始皇帝陵博物院 or 兵马俑票务在线.

Venue: Mogao Caves / 莫高窟

Reference admission price checked 13 September 2026: Operator’s posted normal full fare: CNY238 April–November; CNY140 December–March. Emergency admission is a different CNY100 product when activated. Confirm the final dated/language product and any extra service.

Route to use: Follow 莫高窟参观预约网 official WeChat service account → 预约购票 → Ticket Booking for a foreign passport, as specified in the 2026 notice.

Terracotta: the passport and the museum order must match

1. Reach the museum’s own account from the QR in its official instructions. Choose the visit date and ordinary adult category unless a published concession covers you.
2. Use the passport document option and the actual visitor’s identity. All visitors, including foreigners, need an advance real-name reservation.
3. Save the confirmed museum order. Use 我的订单 (My Orders) in the same account to retrieve it. The published ticket enquiry line is +86-29-81399127 if document fulfilment fails.
4. Carry the original valid passport for entry. Do not rely on a reseller voucher alone if it still says a reservation request is pending.

The museum’s English navigation currently also links to Trip.com. That does not make every Trip.com product ticket-only or prove availability. For the face-value route above, use the museum’s own QR codes; compare the same admission inclusions before deciding that a higher quote is the museum’s ticket price.

Mogao: use the foreign-passport branch

1. Open the 2026 notice in Sources to identify the genuine service account. In that account choose 预约购票, then Ticket Booking; this is the foreign-passport branch named by the operator.
2. Choose the exact date, language and available visit product, then enter the visitors’ passport details. Do not assume the emergency product offers the same visit as normal admission.
3. Retain the confirmed order. For a normal visit, take the original passport to the Digital Exhibition Center and collect the required paper visit information sheet; reach the center at least 30 minutes before the reserved time.
4. Start at 莫高窟数字展示中心, 敦煌市阳关东路8899号. Do not drive straight to the protected cave area; it has no visitor ticket office.
5. If the foreign-passport branch rejects your phone or will not complete, the published 4008-333-715 line offers enquiries 08:30–16:30. It does not book by phone. Keep the visit unconfirmed or change date if no official reservation can be completed.

The 2026 Mogao notice names mgk.org.cn for registered travel-agency users; it does not establish that website as the right self-service route for this foreign individual. The same notice warns that no third-party ticket agents are authorised. A standard museum visit can still have its own timed or guided access arrangements; buying admission without a private tour does not mean unrestricted independent access to caves.

Keep one usable ticket record

• Visitor name and passport match the person travelling.
• Attraction, date, session and ticket category match the intended visit.
• Status says confirmed, with an order reference and the specified collection or entry method.
• Price, included services and cancellation terms are saved before paying. Do not assume a refund or a reply deadline.
• If payment appears taken but confirmation is absent, inspect the existing order and use its support channel before attempting a second purchase.

Official rules and public pages checked 13 September 2026. The unnamed Trip.com venue, Mao overseas-number recovery, and successful phone/payment completion for individual users remain unverified. No login, purchase, operator reply or live ticket availability was obtained.
