Book and reach an Air China transit hotel without relying on the app

A seven-hour Pudong connection is not enough by itself to earn an Air China hotel. Check the same-day arrival cutoff below, then book through Air China or your ticket seller before the deadline. If Rezen Select is already confirmed, call the named hotel for pickup: Air China publishes its phone and address, but no fixed Pudong meeting door.

Check: Ticket and flights

Rule that changes your decision: 999 ticket stock; a through journey in one airline record locator on one ticket, or consecutive conjunction tickets. Both flight numbers must carry CA. For international-to-international transit, both must be Air China operated.

Check: Same-day connection

Rule that changes your decision: Preceding flight’s planned arrival must be at or before 08:00 and the connection at least 6 hours. All times here are Beijing/Shanghai time. A 7-hour connection arriving at 10:00 fails this time test.

Check: Overnight connection

Rule that changes your decision: Arrival and departure must fall on different calendar days: 6–30 hours for connections involving international/regional flights; 6–24 hours for domestic-to-domestic.

Check: Travel period

Rule that changes your decision: For Pudong, the preceding flight’s scheduled arrival must fall between 1 January and 31 December 2026. Check the next offer for a 2027 trip.

Check: Fare and passenger

Rule that changes your decision: O/I/X/N booking classes, award/free tickets, infant tickets, unaccompanied-child categories and tickets with applied/planned upgrade products are excluded. T is excluded on domestic-to-domestic connections. Other fare/carrier details must match the airline’s table.

Check: Room availability

Rule that changes your decision: A qualifying ticket gives an opportunity to book, not a guaranteed room. Ordinary economy passengers need not hold elite status, but may receive an automatic hotel/room assignment without single-room priority.

For a domestic segment connecting to or from an international flight, the domestic operator may be Air China, Shandong Airlines or Shenzhen Airlines while the international segment must be Air China. For two domestic flights, at least one must be Air China operated and the other may use one of those three carriers. Book without making the app show the journey first

1. Ask Trip for the issued 13-digit e-ticket number, Air China record locator and passenger name exactly as transmitted to the airline. A Trip order number alone may not retrieve the ticket. Missing app visibility does not, by itself, prove the ticket is invalid.
2. Use Air China’s official transit-accommodation service, or call the published global line +86 10 95583. The ordinary product also permits booking through ticket sales personnel, so ask Trip to arrange it if self-service retrieval fails. Do not wait for an app repair before asking for staff-assisted booking.
3. Complete a standard booking more than 24 hours before the preceding flight’s scheduled arrival. For example, with arrival at 07:00 on 16 September, finish before 07:00 on 15 September, Shanghai time. Deluxe bookings are phone-only and require more than 50 hours. The current terms do not accept on-site bookings.
4. Obtain the hotel booking result separately from ticket confirmation. Save the hotel, guest names, date, order reference and pickup details offline. After a flight change, check the hotel again: it may be cancelled automatically and need rebooking.
5. If the fare/time test fails, the deadline has passed or no hotel order is issued, use a paid rest option. Aerotel Shanghai in public T2 offers hourly stays through its official page, +86 21 5831 3839. Subtract immigration, both ground journeys and departure formalities before deciding whether an off-airport room would provide worthwhile rest.

From outside Japan, use +86 10 95583 rather than adding an international prefix to the Japan-only 0570 number. Ask for English support if needed. The seller and airline can verify the ticket and benefit; an app screenshot cannot establish that either the room or the ticket has been cancelled.

Rezen Select shuttle has no visible Pudong counter

Use the hotel actually named in your confirmation

Air China’s Shanghai hotel list names Rezen Select Hotel (Chuansha Branch, Shanghai International Tourism and Resort Zone), 丽呈睿轩酒店（上海国际旅游度假区川沙店）, phone +86 21 61189266. Address: 上海市浦东新区川沙新镇妙境路1136弄58号 — No. 58, Lane 1136, Miaojing Road, Chuansha New Town, Pudong. Use these details only if your current confirmation assigns this hotel.

1. Before flying, ask the hotel to confirm its pickup instructions for your arrival flight and the return shuttle needed for your next departure. Save the Chinese address and phone offline. Ask for the terminal, floor, door/column, meeting time and vehicle identification; there is no verified fixed Pudong pickup door to print here.
2. After landing, complete the arrival process and collect any baggage you must reclaim. Once ready in the public arrivals area, call +86 21 61189266 and read the terminal and numbered door/column where you are standing. Air China also allows its hotline to coordinate with the hotel.
3. If you cannot make the call, show the confirmation and the card below at a staffed airport information or airline service desk and ask for help contacting the hotel. Do not assume a dedicated Rezen or Air China hotel counter exists at Pudong. The counter specifically described in Air China’s current rules is at Beijing Capital T3.
4. If pickup cannot be arranged, first have the hotel confirm your room is still accepted and obtain the correct address. Then use the licensed taxi queue if you choose to pay for transport. Keep the receipt; reimbursement is not assured. If the room itself is not confirmed, use the paid backup rather than travelling to an assumed hotel.

Air China lists Shanghai cross-airport hotel itineraries, but the included hotel shuttle covers Pudong T2 ↔ hotel only. A Hongqiao leg is for the passenger to arrange and pay. Confirm any T1-to-pickup movement with the hotel; do not guess the bus will collect at your arrival terminal. Aerotel’s paid alternative is reached from T2 G check-in row via the fourth-floor entrance and sixth-floor reception.

Keep the free stay within its actual limits

The booked benefit includes accommodation and breakfast, with the listed shuttle arrangement. Early arrival, late departure, extra beds and other additions may cost extra. International arrivals need permission to enter China to use a landside hotel. Bring the travel document used for ticket purchase and the relevant boarding passes. Do not cancel a useful confirmed hotel merely to try for a preferred room; a new allocation is not guaranteed.
