Do not invent a visa number

The linked entry rules and airline document guidance were checked on 6 September 2026. Before travel, check the rule for your passport and full itinerary, and use the operating carrier’s official document-support channel to confirm its boarding procedure.

If the check-in screen demands a visa that you believe is unnecessary, first identify which country and which border movement the airline is checking. Show your passport and the complete ticket chain, then ask the operating carrier’s document-check supervisor to assess that exact entry or transit basis. Do not enter a fake number, choose a false document type or treat a government webpage as an instruction to bypass the carrier’s system.

There are two different problems below. An inbound China transit claim needs China’s passport, route, port and area tests. A China-to-Europe connection may instead be stopped by a European destination or transit document field. Carrying the China transit notice cannot answer the second problem.

Inbound China transit: match the whole ticket chain

For a proposed 240-hour China transit, bring your passport nationality and type, arrival port and every onward sector to the counter. Staff need those facts to assess eligibility; a transit duration alone cannot settle the document check.

Write the actual sequence immediately before and after mainland China: A → mainland China → B. Use the last country or region before China and the first one after China, including any connection that changes either side. A and B must be different for the transit route; a return A → China → A fails that test.
Put the passport nationality/type, China arrival port, all mainland stops, exit port and confirmed onward departure/seat beside that sequence. Show the matching official NIA rule and designated-port/permitted-area material. Check admission or transit permission for B separately.
At the counter, say: “I am asking for assessment under China’s transit-without-visa rule for this exact route, not a tourist visa exemption based only on nationality. Please ask your document-check supervisor to review these facts and identify any condition that does not fit.”
If the carrier identifies a real missing condition, resolve that condition or change to a lawful visa/route. If all the facts appear to fit but the screen still asks for a visa, request the carrier’s document-support review before the published bag-drop/boarding cutoffs.

If any condition is missing, resolve it before buying replacement travel. If the carrier refuses carriage, use the recovery steps below and establish the status of the ticket and checked bag before paying for another journey.

Outbound connection: confirm the remaining passes and bags

If only the first domestic boarding pass prints for Zhengzhou → Beijing → Frankfurt → Oslo, ask which country’s document requirement blocks the remaining sectors. China’s inbound transit exemption cannot resolve a German, Norwegian or other destination/transit document field. Show the exact passport, operating carriers and ticket arrangements for that international check.

Say: “Which country’s entry or transit requirement needs a visa number for this passport? Please ask document support to assess the actual citizenship and route. If you issue only the domestic pass, please confirm who can issue the remaining passes, at which terminal/desk, before which cutoff, and whether this bag is checked through to Oslo.” Keep the answer and bag-tag receipt with the ticket record.

Resolve the international-document check and the remaining-pass/baggage plan separately. If the carrier cannot confirm later issuance, request a confirmed arrangement or its change/cancellation options before the first sector leaves. Use the actual carrier’s connection advice rather than a guessed override code or transfer-desk workaround.

If the first supervisor cannot resolve it

Ask for the operating carrier’s document-check or travel-document support desk. Give a concise list of the disputed country, exact passport and actual sectors; show the saved official rule with its URL and date. Keep passport details within the carrier’s official channel.
Ask the airline to state what is missing, whether the booking/flight coupon remains usable, and the available rebooking, cancellation or refund route. Request the refusal reason or case reference in writing where available; note desk, time and staff name without filming a restricted area.
If documents are missing or the published cutoff is near, use the airline’s confirmed alternative. A supervisor request does not pause a cutoff or entitle the passenger to boarding.
Before buying replacement travel, establish the status of the original ticket and any checked bag. Ask for its release or rerouting and keep receipts. Rights and charges depend on the cause, itinerary and ticket terms; no automatic refund or compensation is promised.

Prepare the material the reviewer can actually compare

Passport and any relevant residence/visa evidence; show originals to authorised staff and use the carrier’s official private upload channel if requested.
One chronological ticket record showing all sectors, airports, dates, flight numbers and confirmed onward seat or reservation status; keep separate-ticket boundaries visible.
The official rule for the country being checked, saved offline with its source URL and date, and a short explanation matching each condition to your documents.
Genuine first accommodation and purpose evidence where relevant. Keep a printed copy so a dead phone does not remove the entire explanation.
The actual carrier’s bag-drop/boarding cutoff, support contact and booking reference. Leave unknown facts marked unknown until confirmed; do not fill gaps with invented bookings.

Reassess the documents before travel if an official rule, passport, onward booking or flight route changes. Keep the carrier’s confirmation with the ticket record; boarding and border admission are separate decisions.
